MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Thank you for your interest in the Neurology Residency Program at the Detroit Medical Center - Wayne State University School of Medicine. We pride ourselves on offering a training program rooted in a rich clinical neurology tradition coupled with the most advanced and innovative tools in the field. Located in the city of Detroit, the program provides clinical exposure in both acute and highly specialized neurologic care to the surrounding community and larger metropolitan and Great Lakes regions.
Our faculty is composed of excellent clinicians dedicated to shaping the next generation of competent and compassionate neurologists to practice in an evolving health care environment. We have an outstanding team led by a dynamic Chair highly motivated to incorporate innovative tools to improve resident education. In addition, faculty members are involved in clinical and translational research and are able to effectively mentor and collaborate with residents on clinical research project development and completion.
Residency is both an exciting and challenging time and residents are encouraged to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal interests. Our residents have access to city life in the form of great restaurants, concerts, and all major sport professional teams; as well as partaking in outdoor activities via a few hours drive "up north". We have wellness events throughout the year to encourage team building. Please take the time to explore our website for more information about our, program structure, training facilities, and the rest of our Neurology Family! Follow us on twitter
