Basic Science and Translational Research
The Department houses the Sastry Foundation Advance Imaging Laboratory instrumental in advancing research into various neurodegenerative disorders with particular emphasis on Parkinson’s Disease.
The Department of Neurology also has nine different independent research laboratories in the basic sciences investigating myelin biology, synaptic transmission and plasticity, neuroimmunological disorders, and Neurodegenerative processes such as spinocerebellar ataxia and Parkinson’s Disease. Research includes innovative and state of the art quantitative and functional neuroimaging in several neurological disorders.
