Narrative Bio
Waleed Abood, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology here at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He received his M.B.Ch.B. degree from the University of Baghdad, College of Medicine Baghdad, Iraq in 2009 and graduated with honors. After finishing his internship and basic neurology training, he moved to the United States to complete his neurology training. After completing his residency, he went on to complete an Epilepsy Fellowship with The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Abood is interested in epilepsy surgery and the use of devices in epilepsy. He participated in the device study of non-EEG seizure detection using a commercially available wearable. He evaluated and tested EEG software for source localization and the use of qEEG in intracranial seizure detection.
