Narrative Bio

Dr. Kurban is a graduate from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine but originally hails from Eritrea, Africa. Dr. Kurban worked as a researcher at the University of Chicago with a focus on MS research. He has a strong background in community service, most notably serving on the Board of Directors of the Refugee Education Center in Grand Rapids, MI. One of his ultimate goals in his career is to use his knowledge and resources to help improve healthcare in Eritrea. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, and remains active by playing basketball in his free time.
