Narrative Bio

Kalyan Yarrraguntla, M.D. is a Cllinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology. Dr. Yarraguntla’s clinical and research interests includes multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, neurosarcoidosis, autoimmune encephalitis, and other immune-mediated inflammatory conditions affecting the brain and spinal cord and he has expertise in managing immunotherapies. He also pursues clinical studies, immunomodulator clinical trials and transitional research that involve advanced neuroimaging techniques to study these neuroimmune conditions. His research focus is to find neural pathways for symptoms and complications of MS and other demyelinating conditions and implement interventions with targeted approaches.

Dr. Yarraguntla earned his M.B.B.S, at the N.R.I. Medical College and General Hospital, NTR University of Health Sciences, Chinakakani, Andhra Pradesh, India. He earned a Masters in Neuroscience, at the University of Hartford, West Bloomfield, CT. Dr. Yarraguntla completed his Neurology Residency at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2023. He then subspecialized and completed a Multiple Sclerosis/Neuroimmunology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Department of Neurology in 2024.

He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis.
