Derek Grayson, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Neurology (Clinical) here at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a neurointerventional pain management specialist. He completed his studies in human biology and chiropractic medicine at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL. Dr. Grayson then earned his medical degree from Saint Matthews University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, British West Indies. His dedication to excellence led him to pursue further training, including an internship and residency in Neurology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, followed by specialty training in Pain Medicine through a multidisciplinary interventional fellowship with the DMC Anesthesiology Department at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Grayson's expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, with a particular focus on treating acute to chronic pain conditions such as neck and back pain, as well as headaches. He utilizes advanced interventional pain procedures and an interdisciplinary approach to pain management to promote a lifestyle of well-being and freedom from pain. Dr. Grayson is skilled in various types of interventions, including joint injections, epidurals, nerve ablations, minimally invasive spinal procedures, and neuromodulation (spinal cord/peripheral nerve stimulation).
