Narrative Bio
Dr. Carla Watson is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM). Dr. Watson is the Director of the Pediatric Neurology Residency program at CHM. She began her medical education at the University of Michigan where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in 2007. Thereafter, she attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine where she completed her medical degree in 2012. After medical school, she completed her Residency in Pediatrics in 2014 and a Pediatric Neurology Fellowship in 2017.
Dr. Watson currently serves as an attending physician at CHM and works side by side with residents to solve complex and unique neurological cases. She also works in the outpatient setting where she offers care in several diverse communities - including Detroit, Southfield and Troy, MI.
In addition to her continued commitment to the practice of medicine, Dr. Watson has volunteered for organizations where she mentors students and facilitates discussions with students to help improve their reading skills. She has also volunteered as a guest speaker.

Dr. Watson has published interesting cases along side residents. She also worked diligently on a retrospective chart review research project selected and presented in a platform session at the 47th Annual Child Neurology Society Meeting in 2017.
