Message from the Chair
Dr. Basha's research interests focus on outcomes related to refractory status epilepticus through clinical approaches and investigator-initiated studies. She has developed specialized initiatives in seizure safety and developed a patented machine learning technology at seizure detection through non-invasive tools. She has served and continues to serve on national Guidelines and Assessment Committees at the American Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and the Neurocritical Care Society.
Dr. Basha, a neurologist and educator, served in a leadership role as Program Director and Associate Program Director of the Neurology Residency and Fellowship training programs at Wayne State University. She has an outstanding record of mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. She received multiple teaching awards, including the College Teaching Award and Excellence in Teaching Award from Wayne State University School of Medicine.
