The McHenry Award in Neurology

The Department of Neurology at Wayne State University School of Medicine is pleased to offer the McHenry award in Neurology. The award may be made for essays in the following categories:

  • Clinical Neurology
  • Experimental Neurology
  • Historical Aspects of Neurology

Recipients will receive:

  • $500
  • Certificate of recognition

Eligibility:

  • Fourth year WSU medical students who received honors in their Neurology clerkship
  • Submit a clear, original essay targeted for the general neurologist. This essay cannot be a previously published manuscript

Application Procedure:

  • Essays must be typewritten, double-spaced using standard font. Recommended page length should not exceed 20 pages. Only deceased persons may be subjects of biographical papers
  • Submitted essays must be accompanied by an abstract of 200 words or less
  • The essay must be submitted by December 30
  • An award committee will decide on a winner by January 30
  • Apply to the Department of Neurology, University Health Center 8D
